Warning if driving in Europe

The use or possession of devices to detect police radar is illegal in all European countries and so are using Sat Nav devices with speed camera location warnings in France. Turn off or disable your speed detection on your Sat Nav. Penalties can include a fine, driving ban or even prison...


Enjoy the freedom of driving to your destination rather than flying, and save money to boot.

There's no luggage limit, especially if you favour camping or caravanning.


Here's a really important bit of knowledge; you can dial 112 from anywhere in Europe and an operator will connect you to an emergency service in the country you're visiting. Operators can answer your call in their native language, English, and French.

On May 6 2017, a new EU cross border directive came into effect in the UK, giving EU countries the power to chase British motorists for fines by asking the DVLA for your details.
